JARDIM ELIZABETH
Um dos locais de aclimatação de plantas do século XVII, utilizado pelos holandeses no período de 1629 a 1654. Também utilizado como “Horta da Vila” a partir do século XVIII, após a definitiva ocupação portuguesa do Arquipélago. Serviu de porto de reparo de navios, usando-se material abundante das áreas de reflorestamento permanente.
ELIZABETH GARDEN
A place used for plant acclimation during the 17th Century, operated by the Dutch from 1629 to 1654. It was also used as the village’s vegetable garden (Horta da Vila) starting in the 18th Century, after the occupation of the archipelago by the Portuguese. It served, also, as a dryport for repairing ships, taking advantage of the abundant materials available in this area of permanent reforestation.
