BELVEDERES
Dolphin Bay
Situated at 5 km from the Remédios Village. Starting from
the Quixaba Village, after 1 km walking through the Quixaba wood,
you have the sight of hundreds of dolphins swimming in a real
ballet of jumps and curves.
Caracas Point
From the belvedere there is a wonderful sight of an enormous
flagged area where the sea forms natural swimming pools and where
the marine fowl overfly at low height. An ideal place for photographs.
For safety reasons, the access to the swimming pools is forbidden.
The point is situated between the Southeast and Leão Beaches
and is about 5,5 km away from the Remédios Village.
Boldró
About 2 km from the Remédios Village, the access is only
made on buggies. It's an execellent place for enjoying the sunset.
Buraco da Raquel
About 3 km from the Remédios Village. With a large quantity of natural low depth swimming pools, the cavity is considered a maternity of the marine fauna and flora, because a reef column protects the area. The attention is directed to a rock that seems a mount with a cavity.
It's allowed to visit only the belvedere. The access is the same as if you are going to the harbour. The sunrise or the moon rising seen from this place is something indescribable.
Leão
About 6 km from the Remédios Village. You arrive there
on a buggy. From there you have the sight of the Viuvinha and
Leão cliff. At the high tide water spouts form at the
beach.
Porcos Bay
Leaving the Sancho Belvedere, after 400 meters and going along
many trees full of "viuvinhas" in their nests, you
arrive to the ruin of the Dois Irmãos Fort, situated in
a strategic place, from where you have a wonderful sight of the
Bay and of the Dois Irmãos Mount.
