EXHIBITION NORONHA 3 VISIONS
MANY TIMES ART IN FERNANDO
DE NORONHA - a commemorative exhibition
Inspired in the singularities of Fernando de Noronha, many artists
created works of art registering their impressions in face of the
experienced beauty fullness.
The "COMMEMORATIVE EXHIBITION 500 YEARS OF FERNANDO DE NORONHA"
was one of the attractions of the 10th. August 2003 celebration,
which took place in the Saint Michael Palace, the General Administration
seat of the archipelago. The exhibition wanted to disclose to the
many friends which visited it, how many artists of Pernambuco have
seen this insular environment, being impregnated by the landscape
harmony, by the many blue colours of the surrounding sea, by the
peaceful sights of the mounts, by the whole kaleidoscope they have
seen with their eyes and expressed with their privileged and creative
hands.
They are pieces of an extremely beautiful universe, which are guarded
here by the biggest art of all times. You can also "dive"
in this magic and coloured universe, looking just here, in this
site, at all these works...
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION The
Exhibition Fernando de Noronha: 3 Visions marks the participation
of the Companhia Editora de Pernambuco - CEPE (a publishing
company) in the 500 years celebration of the island. Up to
February 2004 the islanders and the tourists of the archipelago
can see Noronha in 24 paintings of artists like João Câmara,
Rinaldo, Plínio Palhano, Ghita Charifker, Tereza Costa
Rego and others, which were able to represent in oil and water
colour paintings the plastic fascination of the art and of the
love feelings regarding this patrimony of Pernambuco.
The paintings of this exhibition are a part of the CEPE collection.
This publishing company is contributing along the years to a greater
valorization of the popular culture and to the preservation of
the historic patrimony - this can be felt in the company's publications,
like the Cultural Supplement and the magazines Multicultural
Continent and Continent Document. This latter, in one of
the last editions, publishes a special article narrating the whole
history of the archipelago, about the forsaking period, the occupation,
the development up to the ecotourism.

PRESENTATION OF THE GOVERNOR

The ransom of the Exhibition Fernando de Noronha: 3 Visions is
one of the main events that mark the fifth centenary of this archipelago.
Created in 1992, the paintings reflect the exuberant nature of
the islands through the peculiar sight of each artist.
The works show a very clear message defending the environment,
that is, a preservation trial, a message for the future generations.
It's like it would be written in the paintings, through the magic
language of the brushes, that this patrimony should be preserved
forever.
The original exhibition assembles 49 pieces from 24 authors.
But this exhibition presents 24 paintings and this doesn't compromise
the greatness of this work. On the contrary: each painting shows
the contemporary look of our main artists to the Atlantic Emerald.
A jewel of which Pernambuco is so pride.
After taking a look how each artist represented the archipelago,
it's easy to understand why this exhibition can be considered
one of the main events of the 500 years of Fernando de Noronha.
